We decided to celebrate Madeleine's birthday two weeks early this year because her eye surgery is scheduled for the 14th and we are not sure how she will be feeling when her actual birth date rolls around.
We scouted out a great picnic spot at the zoo - a pavillion near the flamingos, ducks, birds, etc. - and invited all of our baby friends! We had birdie treats, birdie books, birdie art projects, and a treehouse tent.
And, of course, we had plenty of Sweet Mandy B's cupcakes!

It was a perfect party except for the fact that it was a blustery 45 degrees. Yes. You heard that correctly. 45 freakin' degrees. All of the kids left with runny noses and the grownups left with too much coffee pulsing through their veins.
The aftermath....
My only other regret is that we were too busy cleaning up to snap a family photo...bummer.
All in all, it was a special celebration for a special girl. Chirp, chirp, little bird! We love you!
