Memorial Day

Madeleine was asked to be the flower girl in our friend Caitlin's wedding. Caitlin took a big gamble on this little one and we are still not sure how she feels about the result.

Madeleine looked as sweet as a bunny and...yes, hopped like one too. Down the entire aisle. :)

Congrats, Caitlin & Weston! Thanks for letting us be a part of your special day!

More May!

Summer has begun!

The first weekend in May, I was lucky enough to celebrate my 30th birthday with the loveliest group of girlfriends in the world! We had brunch, pedicures, naps, yoga, dinner and drinks. A girls' weekend to remember!

A few weekends before, I had another weekend to remember. For my actual birthday, my family got together and booked me a suite at a swanky downtown hotel - it was larger than my condo! - and a day at the spa. Bryan rounded it out with a five star dinner at Arun's Thai with great friends. A girl could get used to this....the celebrating thing, not the turning 30 thing.

The weather warmed up enough that we were able to take family bike rides and hit the beach. Yes, there is, in fact, a beach in Chicago!

We also had the distinct pleasure of participating in the American Brain Tumor Association walk again this year. My mommy friend, Juliana, is a brain cancer survivor and a staunch advocate for research to find a cure.

May - Milestones for Madeleine!

Out with the old...

In with the new!

Crib is too small,

A big-girl bed will do!

April

Spring sprung! And so did Madeleine's hair!

Easter - 2010

More March(ing)

To pass the time this winter, we tried out a few new activities. Ballet looked promising, but it was a bust.

March - Everman Girls Invade Chicago!

My sister and her adorable girls spent a week in Chi-town. It was cold. We covered Uncle Christian with toilet paper. We trashed my kitchen, gorged on cupcakes and all things Trader Joe's, and did lots of princess-y things. You know, your typical spring break shenanigans.

February - Flordia Keys!

We were lucky enough to escape a foot of snow and head to the Florida Keys with some good friends for a few days in February. We are going to need to make this a permanent part of our Chicago winter season!

January - California!

We spent a few very rainy days in southern California with my brother and grandparents in January. We talked for hours, jumped in countless puddles, napped, ate, took quick walks around the lake before more storms came, and made a devilish chocolate bundt cake with Grandpa George.

I LOVE visiting my grandparents. They are such amazing people and it was incredible to watch Madeleine play in their home, just as I did as a little girl!

It's been HOW long?!?

We've been away from blogger land since 2009 and, although I have many good excuses as to why, I will spare you the details! All you need to know is that WE ARE BACK! More soon... - J
