Summer Chic
It's gross today - rainy and 65 degrees. The cat peed everywhere and my house is a disaster. Here's a bit of cuteness to get me (and you) through this day. Enjoy!
Helping
One of Madeleine's favorite hobbies is helping me around the house.
She can sweep (i.e. scatter my perfectly swept up pile), dust (shake the dirty Swiffer duster with all her might) and unload the silverware and put it in the drawer (either clean or dirty will do).
When it comes time to feed the cat, Madeleine begs me: "help feed kitty?". She has gotten so good at doing it that most days I leave her to do it on her own. This is what I found the other night when she came out and proudly announced: "Help feed Elmo!".
Nana's visit
After our trip to Ohio, Nana Carol came back to Chicago for the week and we had a great time!
Kissing Cousins...and Chickens
We were lucky enough to spend last weekend in Ohio with Bryan's family for a quick get together. We stayed at Bryan's cousin's house and Maddie LOVED hanging out with the chickens and among the flower gardens. We were sorry that we weren't able to spend more time with our aunts, uncles and cousins. Hopefully we can do it again soon! While we were in Ohio, Madeleine met her second cousins (Jackson & Aaron) and, well, let's just say if we lived in a different time and place, these two might have a future together.
Boston
Bryan was sent to Boston for work a few weekends ago, so Madeleine and I decided to tag along. This was our first time to Beantown and Maddie's last time flying on my lap. Ever.

We loved hanging out in Boston Common - splashing in the Frog Pond and playing with the ducks.

On the last day, we headed to Cambridge to check out this cute little cafe, as well as Harvard. Madeleine still loves riding in the Ergo baby carrier, especially on Daddy's back. She also loves climbing stairs but is not so proficient at it. I decided to help her up a huge flight of concrete stairs across the Charles River, so I scooped her up, ran up three steps and proceeded to trip and dropped her plum on her face. Not my proudest mommy moment.
We hit up the Children's Museum while Daddy was working late on Saturday afternoon. It was almost closing time and there were no other kids in sight...but Maddie decided to boss them around anyway.
